Appendix: The SBLGNT in Comparison to ECM In the Catholic letters, the SBLGNT differs from the ECM at thirty-nine places. These places and the differences are listed below.1Occasionally the ECM places bold dots around certain readings in its text. Sometimes the bold dots signal “alternative readings which were considered of equal value” by the ECM editorial committee, and sometimes they mark instances where “the reasons for the reading in the primary line were regarded as superior, but not sufficiently to rule out with complete confidence the claims of the indicated alternative reading” (ECM, The Letters of Peter, 24*). Whenever the ECM readings given below are marked by bold dots in the text, these dots have been duplicated (or adapted as necessary) in the list.
