The angel measured the city with the rod and found it to be twelve thousand stadia. (The length, width, and height were all [q]equal, each measuring twelve thousand stadia.) 17 †Its wall was 𝔐K 40% ¦ Then he measured its wall and found it to be 𝔐A,C ANT CT PCK RP TR 51.7% • MSS 7.8%Its wall was one hundred forty-four cubits according to human measurement, which the angel was using. 18 The wall was made of jasper, while the city was pure gold, like clear glass. 19 The foundations of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, agate; the fourth, emerald; 20 the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, carnelian; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; and the twelfth, amethyst. 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each one of the gates was made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
22 I did not see a temple in the city, for the Lord God Almighty is its temple, and so is the Lamb. 23 The city has no need of sun or moon to ‡shine upon it, for the glory of God ¦ shine, for the glory of God itself K HFshine upon it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. 24 The nations [t]will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring [u]the glory and honor of the nations into the city to present to God. 25 Its gates will never be shut at the end of the day, for there will be no night there. 26 They will bring the glory and honor of the nations †into the city ¦ to the city, so that they may enter in K HF into the city. 27 But [w]no unclean thing §and no one who 𝔐K ANT ECM† HF NA WH 37.5% • SBL TH 7.8% ¦ and nothing that 𝔐A,C ECM† PCK RP TR 44.4% ¦ that MSS 5.2%and no one who causes an abomination or a lie will ever enter it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.
