The Fall of Babylon the Great
1 After this I saw *another 𝔐A,C,K [79.7%] β€’ MSS [15.7%] Β¦ an ST [2.8%]another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. 2 He cried out †with a mighty 𝔐K [35.9%] β€’ 𝔐A(11),C ANT CT PCK [29%] β€’ MSS [13.4%] Β¦ mightily with a loud 𝔐A(18) [8.8%] β€’ 𝔐A(10) [6%] β€’ TR [0.9%]with a mighty voice,
 
β€œβ€‘Fallen 𝔐K [49.1%] Β¦ Fallen, fallen, 𝔐A,C ANT CT PCK TR [50.5%]Fallen is Babylon the great!
She has become a dwelling place for demons,
a haunt for every unclean Β§spirit, and a haunt for every unclean and hated bird 𝔐C,K [52.5%] Β¦ and hated spirit 𝔐A [24%] Β¦ spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, and a haunt for every unclean and hated beast NA SBL [1.8%]spirit,
and a haunt for every unclean and hated bird.
3 For *all the nations have fallen because of 𝔐K 39.1% β€’ SBL TH WH 1.2% β€’ MSS 5.1% Β¦ all the nations have drunk 𝔐A(15),C PCK TR 22.7% β€’ HF 12.5% β€’ ANT NA 0.8% Β¦ she has made all the nations drink 𝔐A(13) 7.8%all the nations have fallen
because of the †wine of the wrath 𝔐K 48.8% Β¦ wrath of the wine 𝔐A,C PCK 41.5%wine of the wrath of her fornication.
The kings of the earth have committed fornication with her,
and the merchants of the earth have become rich from the power of her luxury.”
 
4 Then I heard another voice from heaven say,
 
β€œCome out of her, my people,
so that you do not participate in her sins,
‑and so that you do not receive any of her plagues 𝔐A(19),C,K [75.9%] β€’ TR [0.9%] β€’ ANT [0%] Β¦ so that you do not receive 𝔐A(10) [6.5%]and so that you do not receive any of her plagues;
5 for her sins Β§are heaped as high 𝔐A,C,K [98.6%] Β¦ have reached as far ST [0.9%]are heaped as high as heaven,
and God has remembered her unrighteous acts.
6 Render to her as she herself has *rendered 𝔐K [48.8%] Β¦ rendered to you 𝔐A,C PCK TR [47.5%]rendered;
†make it double, as she has done, even 𝔐K 27.7% Β¦ repay her double 𝔐A,C ANT PCK RP TR 53.4% Β¦ make it double ECM 4.4% β€’ NA SBL TH WH 0.8%make it double, as she has done, even according to her works.
Mix a double portion for her in the cup she has mixed.
7 As much as she has glorified herself and lived in luxury,
give her the same amount of torment ‑and mourning 𝔐A(24),K [75.3%] Β¦ β€” 𝔐A(17),C PCK [22.3%]and mourning,
for in her heart she says,
β€˜I Β§sit enthroned as 𝔐A(25),C 45.7% β€’ 𝔐A(20) TR 15.9% β€’ ANT 1.2% Β¦ am like 𝔐K 21.2%sit enthroned as a queen;
I am not a widow
and will never see mourning.’
8 Therefore her plagues will come in a single dayβ€”
death, mourning, and famine.
She will be burned up with fire,
for mighty is the Lord God who *has judged 𝔐A(25),C,K [79.5%] Β¦ judges 𝔐A(20) TR [20.5%]has judged her.”
 
9 The kings of the earth who have committed fornication with her and lived in luxury with her will †weep 𝔐C,K [61.6%] β€’ MSS [11.1%] Β¦ weep for her 𝔐A(20) TR [11.1%] β€’ 𝔐A(14) ANT [10.2%]weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning. 10 In fear of her torment they will stand at a distance and say,
 
β€œAlas, ‑alas, 𝔐A(30),C,K [84.3%] Β¦ alas, alas, MSS [5.1%] Β¦ β€” 𝔐A(16) [10.6%]alas, for the great city,
Babylon, the mighty city!
For in a single hour yoΚ‹r judgment has come.”
 
11 The merchants of the earth Β§will weep and mourn 𝔐K [42.8%] Β¦ weep and mourn 𝔐A,C CT PCK TR [40%] Β¦ will weep MSS [8.4%]will weep and mourn *over her 𝔐C,K 62.2% β€’ ECM† NA SBL TH WH 8.9% Β¦ over themselves 𝔐A 7.7% Β¦ among themselves MSS 5.7%over her, because no one buys their cargo anymore, 12 cargo of gold, silver, precious stones, pearls, fine linen, purple cloth, silk, scarlet cloth, all kinds of citron wood, all kinds of articles made of ivory, all kinds of articles made of costly wood, bronze, iron, and marble; 13 cargo of †cinnamon, 𝔐A(19),C [25.5%] β€’ 𝔐K(33) [24.5%] β€’ 𝔐K(37) [20.3%] β€’ MSS [5.7%] Β¦ cinnamon, amomum, 𝔐A(12) ANT [11.8%] β€’ CT [6.1%]cinnamon, incense, myrrh, frankincense, ‑wine, oil 𝔐A,C 50% Β¦ oil 𝔐K 32.8% Β¦ oil, wine MSS 7.2%wine, oil, fine flour, wheat, Β§sheep, cattle 𝔐K 42.6% Β¦ cattle, sheep 𝔐A,C ANT CT PCK TR 46.7%sheep, cattle, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men.
 
14 β€œThe ripe fruit that was the desire of yoΚ‹r soul
*is gone from 𝔐A,C,K [95.9%] Β¦ is lost to ANT [0%]is gone from yoΚ‹,
and all yoΚ‹r delicacies and splendors
†are lost to 𝔐K [51.6%] β€’ 𝔐C PCK [20.7%] Β¦ have gone from 𝔐A ANT TR [19.8%]are lost to ‑yoΚ‹; yoΚ‹ will never find them 𝔐K 32.5% β€’ 𝔐A(19),C PCK 26.7% β€’ 𝔐A(11) 11.9% β€’ TR 4.9% β€’ ANT 0% Β¦ yoΚ‹, never to be found NA SBL TH WH 4.1% β€’ ECM 2.1%yoΚ‹;
yoΚ‹ will never find them again!”
 
15 The merchants of these wares, who became rich from her, will stand at a distance in fear of her torment, weeping and mourning aloud,
 
16 β€œAlas, Β§alas 𝔐A,C [56.5%] Β¦ β€” 𝔐K [39.8%]alas, for the great city
that was clothed in fine linen,
in purple and scarlet,
adorned with gold,
with precious stone and pearls!
17 For in a single hour such great wealth has been laid waste!”
 
And every shipmaster and seafaring man, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood at a distance 18 and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning,
 
β€œWhat city is like the great city?”
 
19 They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and mourning aloud,
 
β€œAlas, alas, for the great city,
where all who had ships at sea
grew rich from her valuable merchandise!
For in a single hour she has been laid waste.
20 Rejoice over her, O heaven,
and you *saints, apostles, 𝔐A(17),C,K [77.4%] Β¦ holy apostles 𝔐A(25) TR [19.4%]saints, apostles, and prophets,
for God has given judgment for you against her.”
 
21 Then a mighty angel picked up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, and said,
 
β€œWith †such 𝔐A,K 82.1% Β¦ β€” 𝔐C PCK 13.4%such violence Babylon the great city
will be thrown down,
never to be found again.
22 The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters
will never be heard in yoΚ‹ again.
No craftsman of any trade
will ever be found in yoΚ‹ again.
The sound of a mill
will never be heard in yoΚ‹ again.
23 The light of a lamp
will never shine in yoΚ‹ again.
The voice of bridegroom and bride
will never be heard in yoΚ‹ again,
‑for 𝔐A,C [62.3%] β€’ MSS [6%] Β¦ β€” 𝔐K HF [29.8%]for yoΚ‹r merchants were the magnates of the earth,
and all the nations were deceived by yoΚ‹r sorcery.”
 
24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints and of all who have been slain on the earth.
